About the Subject:

Reading and Writing Skills is a core subject in the Senior High School (SHS) curriculum in the Philippines. It is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and strategies to comprehend and analyze various types of written texts and effectively communicate their ideas in written form. The subject is an essential component of the SHS program as it aims to develop the students' critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills, which are necessary for academic and career success.

The Reading and Writing Skills subject covers a broad range of topics, including literary and non-literary texts, academic research, technical writing, and creative writing. Through a variety of reading materials, students will learn to identify and analyze the different elements of a text, such as the author's purpose, tone, and style.
