ADM Modules - Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions (Quarter 1)

Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions is a core subject in the Senior High School curriculum under the K to 12 program of the Philippine Department of Education. It introduces learners to the rich and diverse artistic expressions found across the various regions of the country. This subject aims to deepen students' appreciation of contemporary arts by exploring forms such as visual arts, music, dance, theater, film, and literature created by Filipino artists outside the National Capital Region. Through discussions, research, and hands-on projects, students gain insight into the cultural contexts, socio-political influences, and innovative techniques that define regional art today. The subject encourages critical thinking, creativity, and cultural sensitivity, helping learners connect more deeply with their roots while recognizing the dynamic nature of Filipino identity. Ultimately, it fosters respect for regional creativity and empowers students to participate in and support the local arts and culture sector.
